PC-Xpedite for Windows

PC-Xpedite for Windows (PCXW) is a Microsoft Windows application that provides a user-friendly method for accessing Xpedite's services. PCXW allows users to do the following:

  • Recommended PC - Pentium Class PC, 166 MHz or higher
  • Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98-SE, Windows NT 4.0, Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
  • 64 MB RAM
  • 145 MB free disk space to begin installation
  • 30 MB free disk space after installation
  • SVGA monitor with 256 colors or higher.

System Requirements For Version 3.4

  • Recommended PC - 386 or higher
  • Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98-SE, Windows NT, or Windows Me.
  • 4MB of RAM
  • 4MB of disk space
  • Hayes-compatible modem

PC-Xpedite for Macintosh

PC-Xpedite® for Macintosh® (PCXMac) is a Macintosh application that runs on either a 68000 or PowerPC Macintosh running System 7.0 and newer. It provides a user-friendly method of accessing Xpedite's services. PCXMac allows users to do the following:

System Requirements
The hardware and software needed to run PCXMac are listed below. Install PCXMac software on your local hard disk. Running the application on either AppleShare or another network is not supported.

Hardware

  • Apple® Macintosh computer with one of the following processors: 68020, 68030, 68LC040, 68040, PowerPC
  • 5 MB or more of free random-access memory (RAM) (in addition to RAM utilized by Finder and system software) for PCXMac and the PCXMac-CE
  • 4 MB or more of free hard disk space for PCXMac and the PCXMac-CE (8 MB needed if you install the Universal "fat-binary" version)
  • 3.5 MB or more of free RAM for tutorial
  • 26 MB or more of free hard disk space for tutorial
  • 13-inch (640x480 pixels) color monitor (or larger) set at 256 colors for tutorial
  • HayesTM compatible or PCXMac certified modem (listed in CE's Preferences window; see Communications Settings on page 18 of the PCXMac Installation & Setup Guide)
  • SuperDriveTM floppy disk drive

Software

  • Macintosh System 7.1 through System 8.1; System 7.5 or newer recommended
  • Xpedite Modem Tool (Included with PCXMac software)
  • QuickTime version 1.6.1 through 2.5 for tutorial (QuickTime 2.0 included with PCXMac Tutorial software)
  • PalatinoTM fonts for displaying the tutorial (included with Macintosh system software, though you should check to be sure it is still installed on your Mac)
  • Apple LaserWriter® 7 or newer for creating PostScript files; LaserWriter® 8 recommended (an Apple LaserWriter driver is included with system software)

Note: The PCXMac Desktop Printer can also be used to create PostScript files on Macintosh System 7.5 through System 7.6.1 and System 8.1. (Due to limitations of the Mac OS 8.0 Finder, the Desktop Printer Utility cannot be used to create the PCXMac Desktop Printer.) The PCXMac Desktop Printer requires Apple LaserWriter 8.5.1 or newer and the Desktop Printing software available with System 8.1 (or newer), and downloadable from Apple Computer's Website or from the PCXMac download page. (The PCXMac Desktop Printer is included with the PCXMac software.)
