outstanding service. Our senior management team includes:
Lee Provow President Lee has more than 20 years of
experience in the data and business services industry and is
responsible for Xpedite's global operations.
Prior to joining Xpedite, Lee served as Chairman of the Executive
Committee and Chairman of the Board at Comdial Corporation, a
telecommunications company offering advanced business phone systems,
Voice over IP (VoIP), voice processing, unified messaging, and
computer telephony integration solutions to small and mid-size
businesses. Prior to Comdial, he spent 15 years in the transaction
processing division of NCR, where he held various executive
positions, both domestically and abroad, within the areas of
marketing, product management, strategic planning and execution. In
1995 Lee founded GridNet International, a provider of enhanced data
communications services. He served as Chief Operating Officer (COO)
of GridNet until its purchase by WorldCom in 1997. Following the
sale of GridNet, he served as COO of Slingshot Networks LLC, a
provider of digital media storage, until it was acquired by Qwest
Communications. Following the sale of Slingshot, he served as the
President and Chief Executive Officer of Intelispan, a provider of
network solutions and enabler of electronic communications, until it
was sold to McLeod USA in 2001. Since the sale of Intelispan, Lee
has served as President and Managing Director of Commonwealth
Holdings, LLC, a private investment fund, and as manager of ComVest
Management.
Lee holds a B.S. in Business and Finance from Auburn University,
Alabama.
Vincent DeVita
Senior Vice President, MIS and Business Process Management
Vincent DeVita has more than 20 years of experience in the
telecommunications industry in the area of operations, network and
system design. Vincent joined Xpedite in 1996 and is responsible for
billing, management and financial reporting, as well as improving
business processes across all departments.
Prior to joining Xpedite, Vincent served as President & COO of
ViTel International Inc., which was acquired by Xpedite in 1996. At
ViTel, he had full P&L responsibility for its global operations,
which employed over 150 employees located in 12 countries.
Vincent holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Baruch College, New
York.
Dennis S. Mitrano Senior Vice President, Marketing Dennis
Mitrano brings over 23 years of strategic marketing, management and
technical operations experience to Xpedite. He is responsible for
leading Xpedite's global marketing and business development
strategy.
Prior to Xpedite, Dennis was the founder, President and CEO of
Realistic Solutions, Inc. a strategic consulting firm focused within
technology-based products and services. Before founding Realistic
Solutions, Dennis served as the President of Managed Network
Services for Intelispan Inc., a provider of network communications
and enabler of electronic communications, until it was sold to
McLeodUSA. Dennis has also held key executive positions with Enrev
Corporation, ICG Communications Inc., National Data Corporation and
Sprint.
He holds a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech and an MBA in
Finance and International Business from George Washington
University.
Johnathan Chappell
Vice President, Development
Jon has over 21 years of experience in software and systems
development and is responsible for leading our development (R&D)
organization, including systems software development. Jon has
particular expertise in managing process changes required to
effectively handle the changing needs of business, e.g.
improving operational stability, worldwide deployment of
systems and was instrumental in leading the internationalization
effort for Xpedite's messaging systems.
Before joining Xpedite, over 10 years ago, Jon worked for
several companies in the programming language and application
development tools business such as Computer Innovations,
Software Developer's Corp and Limited Systems Technology.
Joe Melfi
Senior Vice President of Global Operations
Joe has 20 years of experience in data communications in technology
operations and support. Joe joined Xpedite in December of 2003 and
manages our global operations and customer care organizations.
Prior to joining Xpedite, Joe served as Vice President for Global
Operations, Service Delivery for AIG Technologies where he managed an
Operational Support team of 400 employees globally where he focused
on improving availability and quality of service while transitioning
the team to become a service provider. Prior to that Joe spent 9
years in financial services working for Instinet as Senior Vice President
of North America Technology Infrastructure. At Instinet he focused on
implementing and supporting infrastructure for their highly available
real time trading system where he managed a team of 300 employees.
Joe is a graduate of Control Data Institute where he majored in
Computer Technology.
Greg Rable
Senior Vice President, Global Services
Greg Rable brings over 15 years of strategic development,
management and technology experience to Xpedite and leads our
Implementation, Project Management, Custom Programming, Managed
Services, Sales Engineering, and Professional Services.
Prior to Xpedite, Greg served as CEO of Empagio, a company
providing Employee Relationship Management (ERM) software and
services to the Fortune 500. Greg was also the co-founder and CEO of
Derivion, an Atlanta-based market leader in Electronic Bill
Presentment and Payment (EBPP), which was acquired by Metavante
Corporation in 2001. Greg has also held numerous consulting,
business development and management positions with i2 Technologies,
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), and Georgia-Pacific
Corporation.
Prior to entering the corporate arena, Greg served in the U.S.
Army in the 10th Mountain Division specializing in logistics and
communications. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the
State University of New York, and has pursued additional studies at
Oxford University, England.
James H. Henkel
Executive Vice President of Sales
James H. Henkel has more than 20 years of sales management experience and is
responsible for driving and leading Xpedite's domestic revenue
growth.
Prior to joining Xpedite, James served as the Vice President of
Sales and Corporate Officer for Intermedia Communications, Tampa,
Florida. Prior to Intermedia, he spent 19 years with GTE in various
senior sales management positions and was nationally recognized for
leading top sales results.
James holds a B.A. from Mercer University, Georgia.
Dennis Yoji Tanaka President, North Asia Dennis Y. Tanaka,
based in Tokyo, is responsible for managing Xpedite business in
North Asia, including Japan and Korea. Dennis has over 20 years of
experience in the telecommunications and IT industries. Dennis
served as Managing Director of Vitel in Japan, which was acquired by
Xpedite in November 1995.
Prior to Xpedite, Dennis spent several years with Goldman Sachs
as well as Morgan Stanley, Tokyo, where he served as Vice President
of Systems Development. For almost 10 years, he served as Business
Development Manager for Daido Corporation, a Japanese trading
company.
Dennis graduated from the Keio University in Tokyo with a B.A. in
Business and Commerce.
John D. Stone Executive Vice President European Operations
John Stone brings to his role a great depth of both sales and
general management experience, drawn from 15 years in the
telecommunications industry. His 10 years with Xpedite has spanned
three continents — North America, Asia and now Europe — and in each
he has used his ability, determination and expertise to help Xpedite
succeed, regardless of location.
Based in London since 2000, he previously worked from Hong Kong
where he showed a talent for building business, in four years taking
Xpedite's operations there virtually from scratch to a multi-million
dollar business. Prior to this he worked for Xpedite in San
Francisco, and had previously held various sales and marketing
positions for ViTel International, both in London and the US.
John was born in Ireland where he studied business studies and
marketing.
